In the cozy local neighborhood of Burgemeestersbuurt in Zaandam, 45 new family homes will be delivered in the coming period. These homes are being built by Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draaisma. Each home is equipped with the latest amenities and is completely gas-free. These are energy-efficient homes (BENG) that are well-insulated, equipped with a few solar panels, a heat pump, and a heat recovery system. The garden has a small terrace and a storage shed. The front garden will not be completed yet; it will take at least 12 months due to the renovation of the public space at the front. Sometimes new homes cannot be temporarily connected to the energy grid. Therefore, these homes have a special system with a battery. This system ensures that the homes have electricity and you can live comfortably. We do ask for consideration for each other. For example, do not use large appliances at the same time, do not set the heating too high, and turn off lights when not needed. How is the temporary power supply arranged? We still use the large power connection that we needed for construction. We have also installed solar panels on every roof of the homes. We distribute electricity among the homes using a smart system and store power in a neighborhood battery. In cases where we expect more power to be needed, we can connect an emergency generator. The costs of this energy supply will be offset with an advance payment. Until the connection to the normal energy network, you are required to sign a contract for this. You cannot choose your energy supplier until the normal connection is established. This system will remain until the grid operator can connect the homes to the grid. At the time of the switch, the house will be without power for one day to connect to the normal energy network. Showings of the homes will take place in the last two weeks of August 2025 in a comparable home in the project. An information meeting will also be held after the showing about the project. The deliveries will take place in the first weeks of September 2025. This property is a social rental home.
