For flat hunters the city splits in two: the medieval center inside the Singel canal, where apartments are often upper floors above shops along the Oudegracht and around the Domtoren, and the new-build blocks of Leidsche Rijn west of the A2.

Three Dutch words decide what you get. Kaal is an empty shell, sometimes without flooring. Gestoffeerd means floors, curtains and lights are in place but no furniture; if you stay longer than a year, a gestoffeerd flat filled with your own furniture is worth comparing.
