What sets Nissewaard apart is its abundance of family houses with gardens, often at prices significantly lower than Rotterdam or The Hague, while maintaining direct train connections to both cities. The area around Spijkenisse station has seen particular growth in rental properties, with many newly built family homes entering the market alongside converted older properties.

Spijkenisse center: metro hub with shopping
The heart of Nissewaard's rental market, Spijkenisse center offers the best mix of amenities and transport links. Family houses here typically feature small front gardens and are within walking distance of the large De Koperwiek shopping center. The metro connection to Rotterdam makes this area particularly popular with commuters, while local families appreciate the proximity to good primary schools and the large Lakerlopen park.

A historic village within Nissewaard that feels worlds away from urban life, Heenvliet offers older houses with character and larger gardens. The village maintains a strong community feel with local events at the historic church and regular farmers markets, making it ideal for families seeking a quieter lifestyle while still having access to urban amenities via the nearby A15 motorway.
Oude Maas waterfront: boat access included
The areas along the Oude Maas and various waterways offer some of Nissewaard's most sought-after rental houses. Properties here often come with water views and boat access, appealing to sailing enthusiasts and those who enjoy waterside living. These neighborhoods tend to be quieter and more expensive than central areas, but offer a unique Dutch waterfront lifestyle that's hard to find in urban centers.
