At €3,570 average monthly rent, Blaricum houses cost 66% more than comparable properties in nearby Almere (€2,150). However, this premium buys you significant advantages: larger living spaces (162 m² vs. Almere's typical 120 m²), private gardens in 64% of rentals, and village charm that urban apartments can't match.
The price gap narrows when you factor in car dependency versus urban convenience costs. While Blaricum requires a car for most daily activities, you'll save on expensive Amsterdam parking fees and city restaurant prices. For families prioritizing space and schools over nightlife, the extra €1,420 monthly often proves worthwhile.
Interestingly, smaller Blaricum houses can be surprisingly affordable: 2-bedroom rentals average €2,523, actually cheaper than many Amsterdam apartments. Browse houses in Almere to compare your options across both markets.
