Noordwijkerhout and De Zilk joined the municipality of Noordwijk in 2019 and lie north of the town among the flower bulb fields of the Bollenstreek. Houses here are quieter and more rural, and each April the Bloemencorso flower parade starts in Noordwijk on its way to Haarlem.

Den Haag is about 42 minutes from Noordwijk by public transport, with a change at Leiden Centraal. It is the quickest big-city route from Noordwijk and suits a job at a ministry or one of the international organisations in Den Haag.
